The Castle Hotel at Castleton was once a coaching inn and dates from the 17th century. It boasts an attractive interior with flagstones and beams. The Castle hotel is reputedly haunted by the ghost of a young woman who was left at the alter on her wedding day. It is claimed that the body of a young woman is buried under the front door - in accordance with pagan belief to bring the inn good luck! There are three other ghosts and many more spooky tales! A seventeenth-century pub situated in the heart of Castleton. A warm welcome awaits you at the Inn, where you'll find a traditional country pub with a real flavour of yesteryear. Food is served all day, seven days a week from noon until around 8.30pm and there is a non-smoking restaurant. No fruit machines, pool tables or juke boxes - instead, you are free to sit undisturbed and enjoy a drink in quiet, relaxed surroundings.

The Bulls Head has been completely transformed and is modern whilst still retaining a feeling of original character. The chef has worked with Gary Rhodes and is well known throughout the area. The menu comprises of all home-made dishes from a light snack such as a bowl of home-made soup or a real rump steak sandwich or a home-made scone with fresh coffee; to a full daily changing specials board with delights such as roasted cod fillet Kiev on charred pepper and red onion salad or a braised lamb shank presented on a fresh herb mash potato.
